No r-dome rail = No Winnie when I actually buy my 183g in a few years.  I am not owning a pod without the dome.

I do like the woodgrain floor though.  I can't wait to see if they change the garage because I am all about the garage.

I find it somewhat ironic, as FR moves the Rpod closer to a traditional "square-box" travel trailer with the 180 model, that other manufacturers try to copy the Rpod.

Fred:
I agree with everything you said about Camplite, I thought the 21rbs was my retirement camper.
I loved the engineering and she disliked the appointments, then our rpod dealer north of Austin, who also carries Camplite, said  take a look at the Lance 1995 I just got in stock.  It has good engineering and construction and my wife likes it, so time to research them more.  We're stopping by the Lance plant in California next summer on the way to Yosemite park.

I learned that the hard way over there - I became a member when I bought my Salem but I stopped going after a few months after two nasty responses from their moderators.  They look at any post about another forum as competition.  Notice their ads... they don't want any members pulled away because that will reduce their revenue.  It is NOT run by FR, it is for-profit by some people connected to FROG.

Hi y'all. Coming over here from the RPod side of the forum. Today we traded our Pod for another Forest River product, the Surveyor. Though we only had the Pod for 6 months and we generally loved it, my husband did NOT love the climb over situation with the bed and I wanted a "regular" bathroom. Plus we got several other amenities that we wished the Pod had. Glad to see we can still be a part of the chat and continue to obtain great info on travel trailer ownership.

Congratulations on your new Surveyor! I'm very happy that you'll continue to hang out with us. Feel free to post some pictures.

Having a dry bathroom was one of my motivations for letting go of my Pod so, I can understand your feelings.

I love the Lance products, but could buy three RPods for the price of one

kindell, a dry bath and not climbing over my wife in the middle of the night were my biggest reasons, too. But ultimately it was our growing kids that pushed us over the edge...

I purchased my new Winnie Drop 1780 in May. I was leaning toward the Rpod 178, but the Winnie was RED!! What could I do?

Welcome to the forum with your Red Winnie. I looked at the Winnie Drop's at a dealer a while back I thought the fit and finish looked good. There are only a few campers that have a one piece fiberglass roof. There have been two that have been discontinued the V-Cross Vibe and the Evergreen Ascend. Evergreen I heard that the factory had a difficult time in production in keeping the one piece fiberglass roof from breaking during assembly. It is a larger camper than the R-pods.
