Drivers side front corner under the trailer there is a yellow wire that is caped off that is your power source for backup lights.

Thanks! So do you just run it under the trailer and tack it up for stability? I have some of that ridged black wiring harness material I could use.

Hi guys. Noob here. Does the rear light control harness have a common ground?

The whole frame is your ground even the aluminum studs in the walls.

Cool. That is what I was hoping. It's been over 20 years since I have run any vehicle wiring, time to get back in the saddle and bust up those knuckles! I'm taking delivery of our 2016 171 in two weeks, and I am going to do this mod before our first trip mid-April. This mod is a must have for me, I'm only 47yo and I swear my ability to see in the dark is starting to decline. Thanks!

Which lights did you decide on and with what placement? I am thinking of installing oval shaped backup lights diagonally down and in from the brake lights.
