Topic: What size bed sheets Posted: 22 May 2016 at 10:00am |
Hey guys! My wife and I don't pick up our Rpod for another week but we want to go camping that first night. We are wondering what size bed sheets or what to use if bed sheets don't work for the dinette that turns into a bed?? Thanks!

We use queen sheets. They don't fit snug but it works.

Bought two lightweight sleeping bags with zippers all the way around. Discovered that when we had the tent railer, and transferred to the rPod. Just simple, and easier.

Elastic straps (such as those used on suspenders) with clips work wonders for tightening up loose sheets. My wife also modified a flat sheet to have the foot end fitted like a bottom sheet. It really simplifies making the bed up. We just purchased a second set that she will likewise modify.
The queen bed in the 179 (and similar models) is a short queen. That means it is about 5" shorter than a standard queen. That is why there is so much slack when standard queen sheets are used. |

We use 2 different "sleeping systems" in our pod. when its cold we use 2 sleeping bags that can be used independently or zipped together to make a double bag. When its warm we use a set of custom sheets that Laura made. She used a king queen sized flat sheet and made it into a fitted sheet that fit the mattress exactly. she then sewed a twin sized flat sheet to the foot of the fitted sheet. We put both sheets on at the same time. the sheets fit nicely and don't become untucked.

Queen Short is the size you want. Check out Camping World or Amazon. We tried regular queen sheets with the elastic straps but the straps kept popping loose.
