During a walk around inspection yesterday I noticed the support strap for the black water dump valve was broken. Further inspection revealed it had rusted through, (2015 R179 stored indoors in winter) at the attach point of the clamp. I checked the gray water strap and it was fine. I bought some 1" strap at the local hardware store for a simple replacement. The hard part was getting the bolts, off the clamp bolt could not be loosened with penetrating oil and I was afraid heat would melt the plastic so I had to hacksaw it off. I'm surprised it would rust so bad in 1 year.

Most of our camping is near salt water and mine have started to rust. I'll clean them and brush them off with WD-40 and then sprayed lithium grease on them. I also use lithium grease on the jackscrews. Hopefully this will prevent the problem you had
