Given the torsion suspension system on the 179, does loading the trailer with gear cause it to "squat" as a spring suspension would?
My wife and I would like to visit a nearby campground, but the facility warns of an overpass on the entry road with a 10' clearance.
With the claimed stock height of 9'7" and four inch risers...that doesn't leave much room for error.

Yes, the Dexter axles work the same as springs in that regard. HOWEVER, I'd sure have someone get out and watch as I drove under a 10' obstruction. So much depends on ground level, shape, speed, angle, etc.

If it comes to it, you could temporarily let some air out of the tires on one side of the obstruction and then reinflate them on the other side. You would not want to deflate them all the way, just enough to lower the height by an inch or two.

Thanks folks. I guess I need to hook up to the TV and see what the actual measurement is to the AC unit.

So with the trailer loaded for camping but dry, I put a 4' level from the AC to a tape alongside the R pod and came up with a height of 9' 4.5".
My wife called the campground and found out that even they state the clearance is 10' it's actually only 9'7".
We'll still watch on the way through!
