Emailed Forest River West Coat on 9/1/2016 and was told they are working on a retractable awning modification that will fit a 2017 r-pod 179. Individual said it would be completed by end of September 2016 and available for sale in October 2016. I have not heard back from Forest River and can’t find the awning on their web site.

Hello Everyone:
I hope Forest River is reading this. I am considering a new RPod and have seen the videos on the new 2017 and 1/2 models. Everything looks good except for the awning. Looks very lightweight and flimsy where the vertical pokes attached to body or straight up on ground. Why in the world could they have not used the same manual awning the the Winnie Drop has. It has the vertical track on the body of the unit , which is more stable. The Winnie Drop awning is made by  Lippert And is the Solara 8 ft model. Lip pert also makes it in a 10 ft model. Could Forest River adopt this unit.
Thanks
