Can-Am RV (London, Ontario)

   We had a very pleasant experience with Can-Am Rv in London, Ontario. They are Canada's largest Airstream dealer but also sell Forest River products. When we were looking for a trailer this past summer (after our Trillium trailer was hit by a truck while we were on holiday in New Brunswick in July) we were shown several different trailers but were intrigued by the R-pod they had on their lot. It was a 151  with the white interior. We looked for several more weeks at dealers all over Ontario, but decided we'd like to get an R-pod. Couch's in the states seemed to offer a super price on the trailers and had the model we settled on - a 171 with brown wood interior -  in stock. 

We still wanted to buy "locally" in case of warranty issues so we posed the U.S. price to our Can-Am salesman Evan. We took the advertised price at Couch's, allowed a reasonable amount for exchange, our estimated cost of going to the states, importation fees, taxes, pdi, etc. and what do you know, they came very close - close enough that we accepted. 

The only down side was that they would have to order the trailer. It was a very long 8 weeks of prime summer weather I can tell you! It was very tempting to go to Couch's and get one that was in stock. In the mean time, we found that our desired upholstery was discontinued and we had to choose something different.

In the end, Can-Am drove down to the factory, picked up our trailer and delivered it to us the day after it arrived in Canada. We were given a thorough orientation, battery, full propane tank, ac adapter etc.. They installed a brake controller while we were being shown the trailer and soon we set off for home - in the rain, lol. We were able to use our trailer a couple of times before we thought it best to winterized it.

All in all, we recommend dealing with Can-Am. Ask for Evan - we found him to be very pleasant and patient to deal with. I've since heard good things about other peoples experiences with Couch's but the thought of dealing with the border and goverment to import the trailer ourselves scared us off a bit. Fortunately, we were able to find a Canadian dealer who was able to come very close to the US price and we are only 1.5 hours away if we have any problems.
