Calendar Event: Help!! (again) re: refrigerator Posted: 28 Oct 2016 at 4:27pm |
I want to take the "freezer compartment" out of my very tiny Dometic fridge for more room... my question is where do I get the new shelf that goes into the newly converted area? It wasn't in my "package" when I purchased the pod and seems to be very hard to locate on the internet.
Any ideas? Thanks!

There isn't one that comes with the fridge, the one that's in the freezer can stay and you can raise the lower one to create more room, at least that's what we did, however you can order one I believe from domestic but it will probably cost you.

On our first trip, we somehow cracked one of the door shelves. We found a place to order one, but one would think they are gold-plated for the price charged. After all, it is just a piece of plastic. However, it is specialized, so Dometic can charge what they want to for it. After all, where else can you go to get the part?

We know of a fellow podder that went to the hardware store, bought a piece of plexi-glass (don't remember the thickness, but is the same as the stock shelves in the refer) cut it to size and is still happy with his new shelf 3 years later.

The first thing my wife did when we got the pod and was loading it, was to take out the lower drawer, move the door shelf all the way down and put her wine bottles and a half gallon of milk there. We use the little plastic flap folded up to keep things from moving on the lower shelf. And use the old drawer space for a shelf.
