Changed The twin beds up a little with a lift out center section, Tried it this weekend and think i found the final solution, Still gain the added floor space during the day, and can still cuddle at night. The twin beds were just a little to skinny at 28".

Love the twin bed mod and I am getting to change our R-180 into twin beds. Did it once on a 5th wheel and it worked out great. Couple of questions:
Did you use 1x6 or 1x8 for the framing? Is the seat back sturdy when it's used as a seat back? How thick is the mattress? Thanks LT

Datsmar,
Made you a video with answers to your questions. But the quick answers are 1x6 framing, mattress is 6" tall plus a topper, and yes the seatback fits tight and doesn't hardly move at all once set. As I mentioned in earlier posts we first made them 28" wide and that just did not work out, I always had something hanging near the edge or touching the wall and it made for restless sleep. Adding the center section alleviated this entirely even though I only use it for an arm or a leg. The biggest pluses are The added floor space during the day, More drawers for storage, I can actually use the closet to hang stuff, The whole gotta pee in the night and have to climb over the wife to do it, (sleeping bear). This mod worked out way better than I thought it would, and would not change it back for anything. Marwayne suggested flush mount drawer pulls and that is a real good Idea I just haven't done yet. rgds John

Thanks John, the gotta pee thing is my big reason. I'm 74 and find it hard to climb over anything....
thanks for the video that helps.

Looks nice. It won't work for the 179, but I will consider doing something to avoid the crawl-over.
