I don't think there is a good way. Somebody is going to get woke up and/or stepped on. This sort of thing fosters those "loving understanding" kind of feelings that only persons in a small camper can fully appreciate.

simple fix, buy a 172. bunks were made to solve this issue. I hear they discontinued the 172 now, hopefully the 176 is available next time im looking. i liked that the 172 was the lightest camper too

I am with you Ronahue.  We used to do the same thing.  My wife was afraid there would be a grizzly bear or something else, waiting to get a midnight snack, if she were to go potty alone.  So we would both go together and I was sure if something did come, I could run faster.  In all seriousness though, as you said, this sure beats walking in the middle of the night to take care of business and my dear wife has extended much grace to me over these 40 years, I am blessed.
