I have a 2017.5 unit and just installed a hard wired progressive surge protector. The device has a 15 second delay and a 2 minute 15 second delay designed to protect the air conditioner from damage. The problem is my new surge protector is malfunctioning and only delays about 5 seconds. The tech says it is a logic board and is willing to replace mine. He says the surge protector is working fine in all other protections. Does our air conditioning unit have a start delay? If so 5 seconds 15 seconds or over 2 minutes should not matter. I am not really comfortable with the logic board replacement if not necessary. If I use the CB to turn off the air then wait over 60 seconds to turn back on help back up my theory that this method would test if I have a time delay air conditioner. If anyone can shed their knowledge and input on this I would appreciate it. The surge protector is a must in my opinion and happy to have the protection.
