Hi everyone, looking to purchase a new 2018 R-pod 180 this weekend.
They are trying to sell it at $16,995.00 is that a good price?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Best regards,

Nick

Welcome to the forum.

As for the price for a 180, there are many on the site who are really up on the values of new Pods.  I'm sure you hear from several.  As important as price is the dealer from whom you buy.  It is likely you will have some warranty issues and a dealer who is willing to take care of them is very important.  Seems there are many strings in this site in which people describe having problems with post purchase service often because they bought the trailer quite far from where they live and the local dealer doesn't want to deal with the warranty claims on a trailer he didn't sell.

dtc1nick,

From all I can gather price is relative to area. I have seen posts that seem to indicate prices are higher on the west coast. What we in middle America may pay 14-15 K for is somewhat higher in your area. The market supports that by area. Everything is only worth what the market supports. The price will be supported by what people will pay IMHO. I realize you have probably shopped around and taken in consideration the relative time to get to dealer. In the Midwest that price would be high, but on the coast it may be fair.

Welcome! Are you in northern or southern California? And if comfortable saying more, what general region of either of those? On the face of it, it seems a good price in any case (for California, I realize the difference between here and other parts of the country).

Welcome!

I am paying 18,000$ for a 189 with power jack, ac, tv, Microwave and 500$ delivered to my door fee.
That includes the R-dome.

I'm looking for some out back boondocking so I wanted an insect free space outside not just an awning.

Awning is however quicker and easier to set up.

The best price is Couch and I think they are at $15,600.  so anything up to $1000 over Couch is a good price.  So you may have room to get them down a few hundred

From all the California research we've done, this is a good price. And as others here have covered in various threads, there's a lot of value in buying from a local dealer. Of course "local" is a funny thing to ascribe to what are effectively mobile campsites, given the likelihood that a problem will occur when away from home base. But still, we're glad we were able to buy from a dealer less than a couple of hours from us. Good luck and look forward to hearing how you do! And most of all, hearing about it when you bring your new RPod home Smile

So you're suggesting that the price difference is sufficient to drive 1500+ miles (call it 3 days) to Ohio, and then another 4-5 days towing the R-pod back to So. Cal? That's at least (at least) a week and 3000+ miles. That does not sound practical to me. Of course, that's just my opinion...

Don't think they is suggesting travel to Couch. Using Couch's as a price suggestion. Granted they are a volume dealer and granted the price will be higher in CA. Richard Cindy says try to get close to that price, he didn't say go there and buy it.

I just purchased a 189 for 16k, but I'm driving to Tennessee to pick it up.  I guess it also depends on options you get with it.

Thanks Mike.  That's exactly what I meant.  If you can get within $1000 of Couch you got a great deal.  So you start at a local dealer and move further away trying to reach attain price.  At some point the distance becomes too great and the laws of diminishing returns takes over.
