Hello, I wanted to introduce myself and thank the active posters on this site for their contributions.  It helped us a lot as we just purchased a 172 several weeks ago and made the trip back from Ohio with no issues (aside from a snowstorm), largely because of the advice on these forums (e.g. sink didn't fall out because I took measures to temporarily support, checked holding tank brackets, etc.).  My only regret so far is not removing the microwave before I got home and my wife saw it...

I wanted to ask about 2 issues but will post them is the help request area.  I also wanted to see if there was anyone else in the mid Atlantic area using their pods for ski trips?  A primary reason we got ours was for my daughter and I to take trips around the DC area (as far as down to Snowshoe WV and up to Pennsylvania).  We are new the area/coming from the NW so struggling a bit to find good slopes and snow.  We are going to start following storms and trying to find new snow for dry camping/skiing this winter with ours-- so if anyone is interested or already doing this please let me know, especially if you have tweens she could ski with.

v/r, Andrew

Maybe snow won't be a big issue, but finding a slope that's more than 3,000' high might be a problem?

well there is no Tahoe-- that's for sure.  (but I haven't made it up to Vermont or NH yet-- so a little hope still remains...)

Maybe a little better up there. Looked it up on the interweb and found "Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont with a summit that peaks at 4,395 feet (1,340 m) above sea level."
