Searching for boondocking spot in Cheyenne WY, maybe a home or land owner that lets people park on land for a few days. Nearest online I have found is 40 miles which would mean 80 miles a day traveling back and forth. Campgrounds are pretty expensive.

Do you have a smart phone? If so, install the RV Parky app which will help you locate places to camp including state parks and military campgrounds. Here are a few:
Curt Gowdy State Park $12-$17
F E Warren AFB Family Camp (if you have a military connection) $25
AB Camping & RV Park $38
Greenway Trailer Park & Sales $25-$45
Jolley Rogers RV $15-$22
Restway Travel Park $38
Cheyenne KOA $54-55 - this is the most expensive place I saw
T-Joe's RV Park $35
Terry Bison Ranch  $23-$79
WYO Campground $35-$43
For overnight stays, consider also:
Pilot Travel Center
Flying J
TA Cheyenne
Love's Travel Stop

Neither Walmart location I saw allows overnight parking.

Try the Pole Mountain area of Medicine Bow National Forest, west of Cheyenne via either I-80 or "Happy Jack road".  Lot's of free opportunity, and within 20-30 miles of town.  Also Curt Gowdy State park, and Crow creek reservoir just west of Cheyenne off of "Happy Jack road".  Be advised, it is winter in the mountains and high plains, and travel can be impassable at times.  Lots of people camp for free at Wal Mart, or truck stops in town.

There is also an online version of RV Parky if you are on a laptop or desktop computer (I like the bigger screens WAY better).

I don't know the area, or what time of year you need to be there, but it's the west, so look at BLM lands.

Also, a much underutilized resource is https://www.boondockerswelcome.com/ - Boondockers Welcome .
