Hella. They make the OEM switch on Lance and Airstream, among others.

I use one like Riotkayak284 uses. I have it mounted in the cover of one of my two 6V battery boxes. It is durable and does not have a key that can get lost. It is waterproof. It has held up very well for the 3+ years we have had it installed. You can find a picture of it somewhere (I don't remember which post) in my mods. It looks slightly different from the one in the link above. It is a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DUUL9W/ - BEP Battery Switch . The price has increased so a similar model can be had for less. You will need to get a cable to connect from the battery post to the terminal on the switch also. You can order one or find one locally at an auto parts store.

When I was searching for a battery cut off switch I preferred one made in the USA and I found one that was used for race cars. It was in the Vibe and I sold the Vibe and do not remember the name of it. And the switch in the Vibe was mounted inside the camper out of the weather.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'm considering a battery system upgrade at some point.   BTW, StephenH, what brand of 6v batteries do you use?

Not Stephen, but I will answer--
we have 2 Duracell GC-2 batteries (golf cart, 6 volt) that we purchased at sam's club. If i remember correctly, they were about $110 each and have 210amp hours each
they have served us well and I anticipate they will continue to do so
hope this helps

Thanks, Vann.  I know there are a lot of choices out there, and it is good to know what options that others are satisfied with.  -- Doug

Likewise, I have the Duracell GC2 batteries which I got at Batteries Plus Bulbs. I was able to get a military discount there that covered the cost of the core charge. Smile

That's the place I was just looking at!  There is a store near me.  The GC2 isn't listed, but they have the Duracell Ultra, 215Ah

Those are the ones I bought. They have been performing well. As with any flooded battery, they do require maintenance to make sure the electrolyte level stays above the plates. If they were not so expensive, I would get one of the battery watering systems to make the task easier. As it is, I redesigned my battery lock-down system to allow for easier access so it isn't so bad now. The V1 system was a real pain.

GC2 is the standard size for a 200-ish AH 6V gold cart battery, so the Duracell Ultra 215 is probably a GC2 case size.

It is. The more detailed description on The B+ web site lists it as such.
