Owned my Rpod 180 for two months. Motor to raise and lower has a mind of its own. Never know if it will work or not. Anybody having the same issue?

Check the wires, not just visibly, but take them off, clean them with a wire brush, and tighten them back down, probably with a star washer.  It sounds very much like you have a slightly corroded connection.  Could be other issues, but this is the first thing to check.  In my experience it's the most likely cause, and it's free.

+1 - Typical of bad connection. I have a cover over my electric jack.
