Does anyone know of a propane stove top toaster that doesn't take so long to make toast?  I looked on line but it seems all the reviews say it takes too long.

We've given up on those....if we want toast, we butter the bread first, and throw them on the griddle (or frying pan - like making a grilled cheese)....works great on my bbq griddle because I can do at least 8 at a time...  Different texture...but good.

You could get one of the old-fashioned camp toaster which is a flat metal disk with a folding wire rack that holds bread for toasting. This is used over a Coleman stove burner. It is best done outdoors, because you will be listening to the smoke detector if used indoors on the stove. This one is more expensive, but it is stainless steel and should last longer:

Another way of toasting your bread on the stove is simply add a piece of butter on your fry pan with the heat on.  As it melts you can pop your bread on top of the melted butter and then watch until browned to your liking.  We do both sides this way, goes great with freezer jam in the morning.

We butter one side of two pieces of bread, put cheese in the middle, and fry the buttered sides one at a time. We call it a melted cheese sandwich. Occasionally, we will add a slice of ham and viola! a melted ham & cheese sandwich.

But I like your toast as well.

Try one of these parrilla asadora para arepas, it'd probably work real well for toast, though we only use ours for arepas.   http://www.homecenter.com.co/homecenter-co/product/60161/parrilla-para-asar - https://www.homecenter.com.co/homecenter-co/product/60161/parrilla-para-asar

The price of $12,000 is in Colombian pesos so it's about $4.  Amazon sells the same thing for about $17.  If you live in NJ or NY you can buy them for about $5 in any Latin grocery store.

Wifey is adamant about toast. I hear ya! Pan fried works in a pinch, but throwing the bread of the flames of the grill (especially if I have the skillet out) works pretty dam close.

The added flavor of the past evenings BBQ on the bread is just seasoning!
