I just went to the forest river website to see if there was anything new about the 202, or any other new floorplans. I didn't realize it, but they are not building anymore 172, 176, 177, 178's. I knew about the 177,( and the 182G)  but not all the others.

Hadn't noticed, thanks for mentioning it.  Only one original concept "small" rpod left. Interesting.

Wonder if they are going to eventually discontinue all r-pods with fiberglass roofs. I went and looked they still have several r-pods with the fiberglass roofs. I liked the 172 sorry to see that being discontinue that was one of the original models along with the 171 which they are still making.

I knew my X 182G was not longer, or till demand came back. Didn't know that many other models went as well.

At the very least, the value of those just came up a bit.

We had a 173 for about 3 years until we got the 179. The 173 was a great introduction to the "rv life"-we had a lot of fun, many great memories as we traveled from NC to Washington/Oregon/California and back twice. and to Florida and Michigan and lots of places in between. we spent 3 months in it as our longest continual trip. We learned a lot and loved the 173.
but, the size and increased room(with slideout) was too much to pass up. The kitchen is the key for us as well as additional storage. We love our 179 and hope to keep it for a long time.

Or, it means the value will go down as in: 'Clearance', 'move em out', 'last years model', 'special dealer incentives'....

It looks like my little 171 is still listed....for now.

It is interesting that when Pods first started in 2009, they were presented as a small, compact, easily towable trailer with basic features. Models were 15x, and 17x. 12 years later, models have become progressively larger and fully equipped like all other RV's.  Looks like the original market was not as big as hoped, or buyers simply want more space and features.  We love our 151, and have no need or desire for something larger.

Or maybe its a conscious marketing strategy to tie customers to a brand and upgrade them over time. The older folks get the more they tend to value comfort.

If so, FR needs to introduce a new small trailer line next. I'm sure there is a segment of the population that still wants that.

171 is the last, and only, Pod shaped Pod in manufacture. It's a sad time. FR does have smaller units still.. just not Pods..
