How did you attach your shelf and what did you make it from?  There is so little in the walls, I'm not willing to just start driving screws.

I searched, but apparently didn't hold my mouth right.  I know I saw a thread on this somewhere.

I made mine from a ready made wooden closet shelve from Lowe’s.  PERFECT for this.

I cut it to the correct length then installed a cleat to each wall for it to rest on.  For the cleats, I glued them, let it dry then installed two screws through the cleats into the Wall.  Do not use screws longer than 1 1/2 inch.

I then used a couple of finish screws to secure the shelf to the cleats.

For glue, I used liquid nails.

Been there for two years, no problems!

There are lots of ways-hollow wall fasteners, wide screws, glue, expanding screws are some ways.  Most people use the window valence as a starting point. Metal angle brackets can be used also.
I did my shelf differently.  I went front to back instead of side to side. I have a 179 which has  a wooden wardrobe that I can use as one end.I used a piece of wood on the other end. I used coarse threaded  1" screws and glued the wood to the ceiling. I cut the wood at the correct angle to match the slope of the ceiling.

Did this back in 2013 and tens of thousands of miles. Still going strong.
