Hi all,

Getting ready for camping trip and realized my refrigerator will not work on AC power.

This is what I’ve done

Checked and it works on battery and gas

Checked circuit breakers and 30 amp DC fuse, all good

Turned off for 1 hr, turned back on, still doesn’t work.

Unplugged from behind refrigerator, plugged into separate shore line, it works!

I plan on testing at plug in for 110 vac to see if plug itself, trace wiring for possible break or short ( maybe from slide out movement)

I guess it is possible that C breaker is bad, can electric panel have a bad circuit just for refrigerator?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Check the outlet that it is plugged into to make sure it has power.
Did you try resetting the GFCI?

Get a multimeter if you don’t already have one and check the voltage at the receptacle the fridge is normally connected to. If you don’t have 110Vac there but you do at your other receptacles then it’s must likely a bad breaker. Recycle the fridge breaker a couple of times and if no joy, replace it.

If the breaker is not tripped, do check the GFI outlet and make sure that is not tripped. If it is, reset it and then check the outlet behind the refrigerator. If you don't have a meter, you can plug in a light to check.

Thanks to all for the quick replies!

So, I didn’t think there was a GFCI on an outlet because I looked at the outlet next to the sink and it said “GFCI protected” but didn’t have the usual reset button. I assumed (yes, I know, never assume 😛), that it was on the main power panel, but neglected to look to confirm...

After the responses, I went out this am to look for another outlet with GFCI. Aha! It was next to the bed and actually behind the slide out which wasn’t, slid out that is.

That solved the problem, though I don’t understand why the GFCI outlet is over there as opposed to right below the sink 🤔. Live and learn.

Anyways thanks again, off to the Weminuche Wilderness for some restorative time!
