I did a news update yesterday on my live show talking about the interior changes to the new R-Pod 179. In short, there is a new bigger one-door 5.0 cu. ft. Dometic 2-way fridge in the 179. To fit the larger fridge, there are some pretty big trade-offs in terms of storage loss. If you check out the video link below, start at time stamp 10:03 minuets in for the specific discussion. I took a quick look. If there were outside access to be able to use the extra space behind
the microwave in the under the stove version, it might not be so bad,
but to lose the whole space is unacceptable. The low-down microwave would be a show stopper for my wife. Also, I would rather ditch the vacuum than lose the drawer. +1. The loss of storage space under the stove is not at all worth it, and I'd hate the micro being down there. We can get a week's worth of food in the smaller fridge, the only significant benefit of the larger one for us would be keeping drinks cold. We got a couple of low profile ice trays, problem solved. I'd miss the 12V fridge operation. I need a vacuum in a camping trailer like a hole in the head. | We have several friends with built-in vacuums in their rigs.. NONE of them complain about it, most rave. I have considered adding one, we have room, and we go to the beach for a month every year.. you wouldn't believe how much sand gets tracked into the camper. We do our best to control it, but basically we are sweeping every day, and shaking rugs and such every other day.. Irish setters seem to just pick it up like velcro, then drop it all over the place later.. LOL When we get home, I spend a couple hours with the dyson on the rugs and crevices, will pick up half a gallon of sand, even though you think it was all clean.. LOL |

Agree on beach sand, used to live at the beach. Constant mess. Best is to rinse off before entering the house or trailer. An outside shower is a must. For those with presbyopia and a little back pain, the new location of the micro, if you're inclined to use it for more than storage, is going to be a problem; kind of like trying to see the price info on stuff in the supermarkets' lower shelves. ------------- Never leave footprints behind. Getting down to see the numbers isn't too hard. Getting back up is getting more difficult though.
