I would like to recommend R & P Carriages of Seneca, Illinois, via eBay, for their outstanding sales and service in replacing our original but severely damaged Lippert Axle with a much better Dexter Axle. Very fast delivery - and they also repair or replace these axles at their location. My Lippert axle flamed-out on I-85 in South Carolina and we were forced to briefly abandon it on the highway. Fortunately there was a nearby truck and trailer repair concern. R & P Carriages quickly shipped our previously ordered Dexter which helped make our experience a happy one.

Out of curiosity, what does "flamed out" mean. Any what do you see as the advantages of the Dexter axle over the Lippert?

"Flamed-out" as in blowtorch coming out of the bearing housing. Was quite exciting actually until my McD's soda was thrown on it. Utter bearing devastation - the wheel collapsed as a result. As to Dexter, you'll find others commenting on the 'net saying it's a better designed and stronger axle. Mine was custom built as most new replacement axles are, using information from a photo of the axle label. I was lucky someone flagged me down. Could have been much worse. Mind your bearings and keep them clean and lubed, at least once a year.
