Hello Everyone!!

My wife and I are considering a spring camping trip to the Ozark Mountains general vicinity for some day hikes and general exploring.  We don't necessarily need but would prefer, electric, restroom/shower facilities, and not too close to Branson........but am open to all suggestions.

THANK YOU!!

Bob & Kris, Grand Rapids Michigan

Are the high spots in the Ozarks actually "mountains"? Not very high, I think. The highest point is 2561'. Around here we have taller things we call hills.

That said, the Ozarks still look like a great place to explore!

Check out the Ozark National scenic riverways. There are campgrounds ranging nude from very rustic to those with electric and water service. Great canoeing and kayaking on the current and Jacks Fork River oh, lots of hiking, and several historic sites. My favorite Campground is called pulltite. It does not have electric or sewer but does have water spickets in the campground and a very nice shower house. There are electric and water sites and round spring, alley spring and Big Spring campgrounds. These sites are limited in number and Advance reservations for an electric site are a must.

Not sure if I would want to stay at one of those. There are some things you can't unsee. LOL
