I “think” I must have a roof leak.

Several of the small finish nail heads that hold the ceiling panel in place in the front section of our 179 have started to look rusty orange.  There is no other evidence of moisture, leakage or stains except the ceiling speaker mesh cover has some chipped off paint.  I don’t think this is a result of interior moisture buildup.  So, I assumed there was water getting under the roof laminate.

I have been on the roof and all of the side seams and 3 of the 4 roof penetrations seem to be adequately sealed with dicor. The antenna, sewer vent and fan all seem solid.  The only thing I can’t really check or see is where the A/C unit is mounted.  I’m sure that’s a big hole in the roof!

Has anyone pulled the A/C unit off and know how it is sealed/attached to the roof.  I pulled off the exterior shroud, but that really doesn’t give much information. I haven’t tried to remove the interior grill system yet.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Vann

It's a 14 x 14 inch hole. Theres a gasket between the roof unit and the rpod roof. Check out this video

OG-thanks for the tip.
I can't see any other obvious entry path from the outside other than the A/C gasket.  We bought the unit lightly used 4 years ago and have seldom used the A/C. Maybe the gaskets just deteriorate over time or the unit itself may be loose.
I was on the roof several weeks ago installing an Easy Start, so had to remove the outer cowling.  I didn't notice anything then and didn't do anything that would create a leak-- Unless just my weight pushing down on the roof opened up an area under the gasket???
I have watched several youtubers and called Dometic. I ordered a gasket kit. After I receive the kit, I will pull the unit up and will hopefully be able to see where the leak occurred.
While the unit is out of place( and the inside air distribution unit is off), there seems to be several ways to add some sound insulation. I will attempt to quieten it as much as possible.
I'll report back later
