Yes, that's right. Beginning in June 2021, the F150 will have a built-in sensing system to give you the approximate weight of cargo in the bed. There will be a display on the console informing you of the approximate weight, plus there are 4 LED indicators on the sides of the rear tail lights that light up kind of like a battery indicator showing low, medium, high. They will blink if it thinks you are over the capacity of the truck.

Second, it can be ordered with a "smart hitch" that indicates the weight on the hitch and whether it thinks you need to add a WDH. It also will help you adjust the WDH.

Finally, it will have an automatic sway dampener system to help keep you under control when pulling a trailer.

Wow, that is a whole lot of stuff to go wrong as the truck ages.  And I think back to my '94 F-150 with 5.0 V8 and stick shift w/clutch - how simple that was.  Yet, people love new gadgets and am sure this will be a huge selling point for the F-150's.

Kind of funny this time of year as I see a lot of turf maintenance trucks and trailers moving up and down our road.  Some trailers are loaded so heavy that the rear end of the trucks are maybe 6-8" away from dragging pavement while the front ends look the the Mopar's of the 50's and 60's with the torsion bars adjusted all the way up so the headlights shoot way into they sky.

The measurement for bed weight won't cut it for towing. You'd need the hitch weight sensor also so you knew the moment (torque) placed on the F150 which is lifting the front axle. And even then you'd still have to know the trailer axle weight to know if you're within the MCGVWR. If it can't tell you the whole story then it seems like just another gimmick to me.

Ditto for the antisway unless that actually activates the trailer brakes. If it tries to stop sway only by differential braking of the F150 wheels then not so good.

It seems that the "KISS" principle has been lost for a while.

It is definitely interesting, and should help quite a few people when loading their truck. So many people don't care what they do so this won't help them of course. It can't replace a lot of basic knowledge that is passed along here regularly, but it certainly can complement it.

I love my truck and take care of it so it will last as long as possible so I can't envision having to deal with this tech for quite awhile. We will see how this develops over the next 10 or 15 years!

The anti-sway system has been in their big SUVs for a while now.
