The trailer hitch jack and mounting platform were accidentally bent by the crew during their replacement of our door. Neither we nor the shop rep were notified (nothing on the bill detail) but found a cheap replacement bolted in place as we hitched to the trailer in their lot. The original was better quality and welded to the frame, then painted, so I'm leaving the trailer with the shop rep to learn the details from their crew and propose a solution.

And recommendations for a good maker of manual cranks, something I might point them to for overnight ordering?

Thanks. It's only coincidence that I was down at a weekend offroad RV show a few days back and saw what well-built manual cranks look like these days.

It would be strange if the original were welded to the A frame. On our 2016 179, it was bolted. That made it easier to replace the manual jack with an electrical jack. I hope you come to a satisfactory agreement with the shop that damaged the original.

+1 with Stephen. I have replaced two tongue jacks, both were bolted to the frame.

Unless this falls into the "Let no two pods be built the same" rule.

It must. Mine was bolted and welded three sides, which is why the dealer has to now replace the tongue. etrailer was able to ship this new jack in two days and the dealer will mount it.

I'm told they are mounting a galvanized tongue, but since I know nothing abount replacing tongues, I only hope I can spray it black with the same paint I use to touch up the frame.
