We are going to build a R-port or shed for our Rpod. Anyone have a suggestion for a good design. Planed on building it out of wood and covering it with a metal roof, not as cheap as a cover but more practical for our situations. Clark

You could consider a "pole barn" style, poles on each side, roof a foot or so higher than the highest point on the 'pod, extending out several feet beyond the sides of the 'pod in all directions, open sides.  Fairly easy and cheap to build, and if you have the room it can be pull-through so you don't have to back in like most other structures.

There are a number of suppliers of "portable" garages. Basically theyvare upside down u poles covered with tough plastic. They are available in different sizes. Try Harbor Freight.
There was a neat pagoda structure in a recent Family Handyman magazine (available online) that we considered for Free Spirit, but haven't settled on yet. It could be modified to have a solid or lattice top to keep off branches - i guess you don't get the snow we do!

Like the idea of the basic simple pole structure, we built something similar for our dog run after the last hurrican took the awning we don't know where. This will just have to be some what higher. Thanks for the suggestions. Clark
