Well we are headed out on Friday for Devils Den State Park in Arkansas for a week of camping fun. Had Max our German Shorthaired Pointer sleeping in the camper to try out the lower bunk and he seems ready to go. Our biggest problem seems to be planning summer meals for trip. I am sure we will not starve. Wish us luck. Clark

Day 4 at Devil's Den having a great time. We are the smallest RV in the park which brings a lot of attention. Max the wonder dog has taken to sleeping with us. Not sure we like that but to much trouble to convience him that the bottom bunk is his. Weather has been in the low 90's with a gentle breeze most of the time and low humidity we have found tha from 4 pm to 6 pm is the best time to inspect the swimming pool. Its hard work but we feel it is our responsibility as good poders Hope everyone is having a good summer.

Well we returned on Sunday, ten days and 1420 miles, had a great trip and a wonderful time. We had several surprises for our first long trip. Meals: we took twice as much food as we could eat. My wife spent a couple of weeks working on recipes and menu's from a favorite cook book called " The One Burner Gourmet" by Harriet Barker, from our tent camping days, so combined with the electric skillet meal time was quick, easy and very good. We also took twice as much clothing as we needed, discovered it was easier the next time to just wash everything mid way through the trip then to carry 10 days of outfits. I am worse about that then she is. Couple of items I forgot. One, Y connector for the hose allowed us to use our second hose for outside wash up and just to have an easy access for water outside of the camper. Also need to carry an extra extension cord for the skillet, so it isn't running on the R-pod system but plugged in to the 110 outlet on the parks outlet box. That would have kept us from blowing the breaker. Other than that we had a very successful trip and cannot wait to go to the Texas Round up at Inks Lake in October. Clark

Isn't it amazing how much food you can get in that small refrigerator? We brought home quite a bit too. Thanks for the tip on the extension cord. I'm going to pack one today.
Glad to hear the trip went well.

Yeah, the worst thing is bringing home the beer... We seem to overdo the food when camping too. But better that than having to find a source for pb&j when you really want shrimp scampi!!   Glad the trip went well, did you find any glittery stones?

No beer left over but did bring home a half bottle of red wine. Sorry about the huge picture. Should have reduced the size of that before I posted it. Hope all of your camping trips go as well. Clark
