Anyone here have the option that raises the R-Pod another 3" off ofmthe ground ? We live in Wyoming and some of the roads leading in/out of the campgrounds are a tad hilly and bumpy, to say the least. When we visited a dealer a week or so ago the salesman thought that the "Axle Lifter" option might be a good idea    ...and I just wanted to get some frank feedback from other R-Pod owners. If it matters any, we are looking at the 177 model.

Thanks in advance,

MJ

The only way to go! if you search the forums on axle lifter you will find many tales of woe from folks before they got them installed. I heartily recommend them, they make even in and out of the driveway less nerve wracking.

We have several threads on the risers, a quick search will bring them up.  They can be ordered from FR for about $75, where most dealers want twice that or more just for the parts.  Then add labor.  If you have a good floor jack and some jack stands you can do it yourself in an hour or so.

Keep in mind, the risers only raise the coach, not the axle.
So axle to ground will remain the same.

I'm going to install them in a week.

But that still helps in regard to raising the stabiizers so they don't "sand" the pavement on uneven ground, right?  My dealer ordered the risers for me and will install them next week.  It is costing me a wee fortune, but I can't install them myself, and the menfolk around here are all way too busy for their own good - or should I say for MY own good. Welcome, ka9nyn.

Hodge, yes, it raises everything else so you won't scrape your stabs.

How much is he charging you?  If it's more that $100 installation charge, take it somewhere else.

If you order the lifters directly from FR do they come with illustrated install instructions    ...or has anyone here ordered/installed them on their own and posted any instructions. I have a floor jack and stands and don't mind taking on projects like that if they are fairly straightforward but with something like that I wouldn't want to just wing it.

Thanks   ...

Slogger, yes they come with a single sheet of instructions. And yes some one posted them and a step by step version of their own install experience. I had a local RV shop do mine and he said it went easy.   Using my iPad I haven't been able to copy out the links, sorry. Walt
