I moved this post as I posted it in the wrong spot last night.
We were waiting to get our TV fixed so that we could get the wiring for the RPOD. Now that we have our Jeep back, our dealer is all out of 177's and will not get anymore until November.  That was our model of choice. So, we started looking at the 176T since our dealer has 3 of them.  My question is about the mattress.  I have read several posts about it being an air mattress.  But, when I look at the pics in the brochure and on FV, it looks like a folded mattress.  Anyone know if the switched to a real mattress?  One of the reasons for a camper is for the mattress.  My husbands back cannot handle the air mattress anymore.  We also like the fact that his feet could hang off the edge a little in the 176T. He is 6'2" which will fit in the 177, but there is not much room. Anyone know anything or any info in general about the 176T?

Have you checked for used 177s on Craigslist? I saw one in Massachusetts. We traveled several hours to buy a used one and we don't regret it!

Yes, we have been looking, but we only live about 25 minutes from Couch's Nation and really want to buy new if we can.

Can't get it cheaper anywhere else.  I tried.  Seems like they are a good dealer also.  Remember many dealers will not warranty service your trailer unless you bought it from them.  Safe Travels.

I know how anxious you can get.  Heck, we went from non-RV'ers to R Pod owners in less than two weeks!

Just make sure that the 176T is what you really want.  It may depend on where you intend to camp.  Some venues in "wild life' territory disallow soft-sided campers.

Of course, you could always choose to not erect the "T", and sleep on the remade dinette, but I bet that is pretty uncomfortable for hubby.

This is, for most of us, a significant investment, and a hasty decision is potentially a poor one.

Just make sure so you can have the most fun possible.  Just my humble opinion...

Got the answer.  No more air mattress in the 176T.  Thanks for all of your replies.  As for whether to buy the 176T or wait for the 177....not sure.  We have been looking at the R-Pod for 2 years and have thought about a camper for about 10.  We have been tent campers, but my husband grew up with a camper on a permanent lot.  So, in fact, we have thought this situation to death.  But, I appreciate the different points of view that people have pointed out.  We live in Indiana and plan to only branch out to the neighboring states for a while.  We have a Jeep for a TV and not sure if we want to take long trips.  It will mostly be in the summers as we are both teachers.
