Not to start a p*ssing contest, but is there anyone that participates on R-Pod Owners Forum that DOES NOT also participate on R-Pod Nation?  I'm only curious because it seems that just about every question or post gets published on both boards.  I find it hard to believe that there are many, if any, that are not aware of both sites.

Just curious and yes, I posted this same question on the other forum.  Wink

I am a "former member" of the other forum.  The main reason I don't go over there is because of a small group, very small, that was rude to me in some messages and emails.  There is another reason also.  The forum is owned and run by a dealership not by the people that own R-Pods.  But I don't hold any grudges to them.  They do have some very fine members.

I am a member of both forums and I will answer posts on the nation but I only start new posts here. Only because I don't want to do everything twice. Also I know Forest River Monitors the Nation if I wanted to get a message to them I might post it there instead of here.

Damn Nascar....I've been thinking the same thing for months.  Being still in my first year I check both.  It seems 75% or more of the ?’s posted here get posted there.

I do find good facts and info from both.

One major advantage here to me is Techntrek and his daily involvement, organization and details to keep things in order and provide checklists, etc.

So a big shout out and thanks to Trek for a great job.

Now off to check Nation posts.

X

Ya, I read both though it is like 75/25% forum. It seems a more engaged live crowd here. And I second the shout out to Techntrek and the other senior members ( to many to name individually) who post good stuff, outstanding mods, well organized, ya, ya, ya. Thanks ya all.

Good Question and one that is asked every so often.  The reasons for rpod-owners.com is stated in this section

I have not been back to rpodnation since I was pushed out from comments and PMs from the other site.  We are run by owners of R-pod Campers (both present and past owners) and not by a dealer using them and do treat all that come with respect even if they have another camper than the r-pod.  Forest River has been invited to this site and is aware of this site.

I am ambidextrous...

I don't do as much there as I do here, for sure. But new people often find the nation first (we did), and start there.. can't leave them to the wolves.

There is actually a pretty active group on FB too.. if you FB.

I am only a member here, and do not desire to be a member of the other forum.  While I did use it during my year-long research phase on Pod's I found that in general there were more questions asked here, better and more detailed responses to questions here, less or none of the "Rah-Rah" fluff about RV Nation and Forest River, and it felt more inviting from an overall atmosphere.

Great read ... thanks for the link.  Funny how the troll never answered the question re: the rally site, nor ever posted again here.

Thanks, we (all the moderators) have worked hard.  Completely a labor of love, even our benefactor who hosts the site provides the hardware and Internet connection from his own generosity (note that we don't have any ads on the site to offset his cost).

This is the only site that I look at only because I don't spend alot of my free time on the computer and all of the folks here are really great.
Hats off to all that keep this site up and running.

We looked at both but only signed up here after finding out that the other is dealer run.  We signed up on the other one this year to help with organizing the NE Roundup.  We found over the years that forums run by shops and dealers always end up turning on themselves and get all political and petty.  The whole point of camping is to avoid nonsense like that.

A big thumbs up and a big thank you to techntrek, senior members and all the mods that make visiting this site so much fun.  We learn so much each time we log on.

Goose: sending positive thoughts. Wishing Ms. Goose a speedy recovery.

I use both sites, but I sure love the lack of ads here! And I really appreciate all the hard work by the moderators of this site to keep the politics and commercials out of it. Really is a labor of love by them, and they are to be commended for that!

There are a few other forums, (fori ?...) that I used to frequent, but have just about
totally lost interest in.  The root problem is almost always a combative position
taken by the forum owner, (there is always one, even if it is not obvious), and
several cronies who have been promoted to "administrators".  Any position that is
contrary to their "party line" is met with derision.

So far this is not the case with our community, and I am both delighted and grateful.

Thanks to all the unpaid but not unappreciated efforts.
