We might be interested in This. Bar Harbour and Portland are both within  range for us. July and August are good for us . As a matter of fact we will probably be in upstate New York for the weekend of the 11 August so the weekend before the 2nd 3rd and 4th of August would be good as we could be be in the area already.

Don't know how far people would like to travel,,,but this past past summer we went to Southwick State Park on Lake Ontario, near Pulaski, NY. It was gorgeous. You have the option of camping right by the beach, but it can be windy. We camped at a loop away from the water, but biked down to the beach. It was like being on the ocean. The beach was great and the sunsets were spectacular. We had electricity and just filled up our water tank before setting up.

The New England round up sounds really nice. All the locations are easy travel for us. We would definitely be interested.

At this year's roundup a location was discussed as an option for next year, but someone else will have to name it, I don't remember.

Changed the wording of my original post from "nomination" to "suggestion", which is what I actually meant to say.

So please, if anyone has a favourite camping spot or destination they would like to recommend for the 2013 NE roundup please speak up :D

Not sure what the suggestions were at the 2012 Roundup, so we'll have to wait till the attendees chime in.

Lake George would be great for us.  Any time in the summer months from mid June to mid Sept.  So far this is the only round up I've heard of that would be somewhat close to us.  Would love to be kept in the loop if the round up is in NY.

We're trying to remember the suggestion from last roundup... Believe it was a name with Pine and maybe Creek in it, and in SE Pa.  I can't seem to find it on a search, though.  Do those names strike a chord with anyone?

We would like to head up the Hudson toward the St Lawrence this summer after the NC roundup, maybe in August or September, so that area is of interest to us.

We came up with the suggested campground from the fall roundup...it was Oak Creek in SE PA, now called Adventure Bound oak Creek Resort. On second look, it looks a bit too resorty.

That happened to our favorite campground.  For decades it was rustic, low-key and far from resorty (love that word).  After we discovered it we got to enjoy it for 4-5 years before it was bought out and turned into a 5-star RV resort.  We still love the location just not all of the 5-star additions - or 5-star price...

We're game for a NE roundup - as we missed last years due to an illness.

Have at least 1 trip per month currently scheduled. Headed to the Lake George region at the end of August - that will be our first "boondocking" experience. I'm OK with it - my wife just figured out that no electric means no A/C... She's currently in shock.

Just turn on the bathroom fan and open the windows, it brings in a nice breeze.  I still prefer A/C because of the humidity, though.

I seem to remember an A/C mod that included adding a soft-start capacitor which would allow a Honda EU 2000i generator (or equivalent) to run the A/C. Am I remembering that right?

Google "hard start mod".. MOST find a 2000i will start the A/C with that mod.

We're getting major work done on our TV Cry and so we're stuck for the next week or so.  We were thinking of heading up to ME again in August and then a few Cape Cod trips in September through October.  Depending on how our TV is after the work, we may have to skip our annual VT trip due to the hills.   Having just moved last month, we're just not that organized yet Tongue

Is anyone interested in a Cape Cod September Roundup? (i.e. after the insane crowds leave)

We've stayed at Sweetwater Forest and really like how many trees there are there. Each campsite seems very private almost like a state park but with additional benefits such as water and electric.  They supposedly have a doggie daycare on site too (which was what got us looking at them in the first place), but we didn't have a chance to use their services.

Our TV has been in and out of the shop and now we are comfortable with it towing the pod, but will most likely upgrade in the coming year to something bigger as we are looking to do Lake Placid or Northern VT next year :)

Greg's work schedule is changing on a daily basis and things are up in the air for us at the moment.  We were originally thinking of the 3rd weekend of September but not sure now.

Anyone available the weekend of Oct 18th?  I could go as far north as northern PA, like Wilkes-Barre or Williamsport.  Lots of state parks up there, we were at Hickory Run state park south of Wlkes-Barre this weekend.

Sorry tech, i already committed to a set of seminars on Sandy Recovery that weekend.  This will b a slim camping season with all that has been going on. We will try to get away sometime in October.  It looks like a NE roundup is out of the question, too.  Sorry, Tracy.

South is good, too, although it would then have to be called the 2013 SE Roundup, or maybe the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Roundup.  Smile

Maybe somewhere west of DC in VA or WV?  Lots of parks/forests there and pretty countryside.

We are going to be leaving our upstate NY home on Columbus Day weekend,,,thinking of leaving at the beginning of the weekend instead of the end so we can enjoy some new campgrounds.

We just camped at Elk Neck this spring.  Loved the area and plan to go back.  When we were there the leaves weren't on the trees yet so there was a great view of the bay.  A month from now the leaves will probably still be there so the view may not be as great.  There's a small town nearby with a "main street" for shopping, dining, etc.   Near the campground there's a lighthouse.  Takes a mile hike to get to it but its high up on a bluff with a great view.
