Our 2013 R177, (the one with the green and beige swirl graphics, not the horizontal and diagonal decals),
only seems to have a TV Antenna In (F-fitting), a Radio Antenna In (small 2-conductor pinch plug), and
what I assume to be a Line Composite Video Out (RCA jack, color coded yellow).  No Line Audio Out!AngryAngry

The Audiovox web site does not even show such a model, and the owner documentation supplied
by our dealer definitely shows those connections.  Kinda' p***ed off!

In the final analysis it won't matter, since the whole system will eventually be upgraded, but in the
meantime it makes step-by-step improvements a lot more troublesome.  If FR ordered a special run
just to save a couple of bucks, shame on them!

The TV/Radio is what it is.  It was made for minimal TV and radio while camping.  Kind of like most car sound systems used to be.  People serious about listening to music replaced them as soon as they got the car.  When we camp the TV/radio is almost never on, so for us it is good enough.  You need more, and will have to pay more to replace it.  My guess is FR hasn't had the demand for surround sound in Pods, so they haven't upgraded the gear.

I'm sure that's all true, but still does not explain why the audio outs, for whatever they're worth, are
 missing from this particular unit.

Yes, the Audiovox will end up in a yard sale with about a $25. tag on it, but I sure could use the aux outs
to feed a pair of computer-grade speakers in the interim!

(edit)-  Quit cryin', Cooper!  Just take the Bose Sound Dock, plug it into the R-Dome outlet, load up one
of your half-dozen iPods with Christmas music and have a good time next week!  Other folks can't
even go camping this time of year!  Sheesh!

We watch the t.v. in the morning with coffee while waking up and check out the weather (if we can get reception) then we are walking, fishing, fixing a fire, going places ect. t.v. after dark until the bobble head strikes us. If I wanted to listen to music, watch big screen t.v. or play music discs I would stay home. Donna and I enjoy the quiet of the woods and different scenery and the sounds of the woods and water falls.
We do a lot of walking in the camp grounds or on trails, you can't buy the quiet of the woods or birds singing and the smell of the outdoors on a c.d. disc.

My 30ft FR RV came with a really nice 35 inch flat-screen and six speakers. Of course, it cost more than five times my Pod.

Your mild lecture about the joys and sounds of nature notwithstanding,  there are times when music,
played at a very respectful campground volume, would fill the 'Pod and/or the R-Dome, and greatly
enhance our communing with nature.

My solution would have been far easier and entail no additional electronics if the entertainment system
supplied by the factory were up to specifications.

I promise not to play my Christmas music at a volume that will disturb your nature stroll.

My favorite Christmas music is the old Burl Ives stuff, but alas yesterday morning temps were 24 d/f in southern indiana, the only sound it the pod would have been teeth chattering.

cooperdckey, oh no, I was'nt fussin at you, Donna and I just prefer the quiet time in the woods, Music is great and soothing, we just like taking a couple of days off from banging and clanging life. Donna used to not be able to get below about mach 2.5, then when we got the Pod she actually would set in an antigravity chair for 1 or 2 hours and we would just set and chat and enjoy the sounds of the woods. To each his own my friend. enjoy podding and your music.

I still can't comprehend your unit doesn't have an out to it.  My 2012 does...but I have a different model, but I though FR uses the same unit.

coopercdkey, you would have liked the "Ribberfest" this August in Madison Indiana, they have a huge BBQ cook off with teams from around the country, Memphis BBQ, Georgia style, ribs, brisket, and of course fair junk food. Music was great, a mix of blue grass and blues, Robert Cray played live on stage and we got to see him up close, we have seen him live before. A lot of great local bands also. Clifty Falls State Park is pristine and resonable in cost. Speaking of BBQ I did some boneless Country Style Pork ribs on my Big Green Egg this afternoon, used apple wood for smoke, came out perfect, It would have been better with Robert Cray playing in the background.

The Audiovox in my new 2013 RP-172 has no audio outputs and no mention of them in the supplied manual. Goes right along with the lack of 12 volt capability. That would have cost Audiovox one cheap connector and one cheap chip. But, like yours, my Audiovox is probably on the short replacement list.

For audio entertainment,,,,we have an iphone and we connect it to a JBL circular speaker...it gives great sound! We can also connect it to our small 13 inch TV that we put on our dinette table and that really improves the sound. No longer do we bring any big radio or boom box,,small is good!
