Hello all,
I'd like to charge up the batteries (two 6 volt) of my 177 while in storage but the nearest outlet is just a few feet short of being able to reach with the power cord. Can I use a 6 foot extension cord or will this cause problems? I won't be running anything but the on-board charger.

I would make sure the connection between the pod cord and the extension cord is dry and protected. And make sure that the extension cord is rated for 30 amps.

You will be ok without a 30 amp camper extension cord (using a "hockey puck" adapter and a regular extension cord) for battery charging. I agree you should wrap the connection in plastic and raise it slightly to keep it dry.

Just sitting here and "reading the mail" and wondering where in Oregon or Washington your headed for winter camping. Here in the Portland area we had a warm day at 47 up from low 30's. Would consider a winter camp but can't for the life of me think of any "warm" spots nearby. I would love to hear your plans. I see the east coast folks have a trip planned. Somewhat envious, however cold weather is not what I really enjoy. Possibly you can join us in August at Seaside for a Rpod Roundup. Till then, me thinks that the Rpod will have to wait till spring to be dewintered and restocked for the camping season. I 'm with Bob, I don't think that the cover is coming off the camper till it hits 70 degrees out.  We have a fire pit out back but don't use it much in the winter as your front is warm and your backside is frozen stiff. Goose ------------- Mother Goose's Caboose..2011 RP171..07 Grand Cherokee
