Welcome, we picked up our 177 last year also, and as you our  "Ehh R pod"  is much better than the tent.  We are just south of Ottawa and west of Cornwall. Maybe run into each other this summer.

We are contemplating on buying a r pod 172 (bunk version) and will be pulling with a Santa Fe 2012 as well. How do you find the Santa Fe handles the towing...did you do any upgrades like a transmission cooler? We could never get a straight answer from Hyundai if the 2012 had a beefed up transmission cooler (like the ads said it did). I don't see any issues with the power of the V 6 3.5 L. Look forward to your response!

We picked up our new (actually a barely used 2010) from the dealer this week. After some minor trailer brake adjustments and trying to rig the brake controller in the right place so my feet did not bang it between switching from the gas pedal to the brake...all is good. We did notice a small crack in the fiberglass near the rear of the trailer. The dealer assured us that if it spread they will repair it no cost...but he didnt' seem to worried about it.

Looking forward to new adventures in our pod 172...the three of us (2 year old girl and my wife and I).

Thanks for the forum...it really helped make our decision easier to buy one.

Congrats.  I would press to have that crack fixed immediatley.  Any crack will let water into the interior.

Thanks for the good advice on the crack. I had the dealer look at it very closely and he stated that most likely it was a gelcoat crack and for now to monitor it. He wrote on the bill of sale that if it became worse that he would repair it at no cost...I felt like demanding it be fixed but he is a professional and I sort of trusted his opinion. Besides, why would he let me take it if he knew it was a deep crack that would let moisture in...he would be paying a lot more out in time for sure. It definitely looks limited to the top surface.

They put a small reflective stick over it to mask it...I know, sounds like hiding it! But probably what I will do is for this season watch it and when I get it winterized have them repair it- telling them I don't feel comfortable with it etc.

loving the 'RaPoda' though...it is going to be fun. Thanks again.
