I got this recipe from the Boy Scout site:

26 pieces of charcoal, heated and ready to cook with
1 cake mix, any flavor to your liking
1 can of pie filling, any flavor

I used spice cake mix and apple pie filling. Mix together until well blended. Line a cast iron dutch oven with foil inside. Spray generously with Pam. Pour cake mix in and cover. Place 13 charcoal on the ground in a circle and place dutch oven over charcoal. Place the other 13 charcoal on the lid of the dutch oven. Cook for 25 - 30 minutes. Enjoy warm for best flavor.

My dutch oven is the type with "legs". When I make this, I always get comments about how good it smells! My grandkids love this recipe with chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling. Of course, whip cream on top!
