High Falls State Park is located south of Atlanta, near Jackson, GA.  It is only a couple of miles off I-75 for those who are headed up or down the big asphalt.

There are two campgrounds, but for many basically the option is the river campground.  The lake campground sites are only 25'.  The park fees run $29.00, except for a few premium pull through sites.  Most have 30 amp service, but a few have 50.  All other sites are back in, but the angles are good.

There is a pool onsite ($5.00) per person/day.  There is also a hiking trail that runs by the falls which is fun for those who enjoy lots of steps.

Just down the road is a water park (small, compared to the mega ones in FL), that is open seasonally from 11 to 5).

We enjoy High Falls because its not a long trek from Atlanta, but far enough away.

is there any North of Atlanta close to the Atlanta Cumberland Center that you know about? I will be visiting down in that area in September and thinking about maybe taking the pod.

Since we stay in State Parks, I can only answer from that perspective.  There are no state parks in the nearby area to Cumberland.  If I was pulling a pod to Atlanta, I'd stay up at Red Top Mountain State Park and drive into the city.

Here are a couple of links:

First a map of the state park system.  You can click on each location and additional info comes up.  Some that appear nearby (Sweetwater & Panola) do not offer camping.

Hope you will come see us!
