Below is a video walkthrough of RPod winterization.  I know it's a bit late in the season for some of our newcomers and I'm sorry but I just got the video files all to play right together in a single video this afternoon.

Thanks for the great video.  I will be picking up our 177 from the dealer in November and will need to winterize it when we get it home.
I would like to know where I would be able to get a similar graphic like you have of the moose on your pod.

Any company that prints signs or banners usually does these type of graphics.  We would a local place that does that type of thing and bought from them and sized it to the dimensions we wanted.

If picking up in November, ask the dealership, it should already be winterized when you pick it up...

When we pick it up were heading out for a few days and try it out.  We will be camping in warm sunny California.  The winterizing will need to be done when we head home up in the mountains.  The temps can get down in the teens.  In 89 and 90 we actually got below zero.    Will probably only drain the water heater and keep a heater going if it gets too far below freezing.    With are location it’s a lot warmer only a few miles away.   I definitenly will keep an eye on the weather and try to avoid any damage.

When I signed up I put Bakersfield, but was thinking near Bakersfield.   Need to change that- lol.   Tehachapi Ca. is 4,000 at the summit on Hwy 58.   Definitely not as cold as Truckee.   Maybe  instead of winterizing the pod I will keep it in baks- lol.

Just trying to winterize. Why is the antifreeze running out of the outside city water inlet? R all your valves off on the water heater? You show one still running in the direction of the pipe. thanks

When the valves are in the winter position the one in the middle will still be open (handle parallel to the pipe).  The ones on either side will be closed.  During the summer all 3 are exactly opposite.

If it's coming out your city water inlet then your backflow valve is perhaps open and possibly needs reseating.  Wiggle the screen cover out of the city water inlet outside and locate the little plastic button-nub inside.  Give it a good push and it should pop out and reseat itself and stop water, or antifreeze from coming out there.

Thank you for posting the great video. I have a 2014 178. I do not have the T in the water line to put hose in AF bottle. I bought a connection at Lowes to hook into pump directly. I have to unscrew the hose at inlet side of pump and screw my self made hose assembly into the pump. Still works but a T would be easier. Might install a T in the future.
I want to camp in the winter too. I was wondering if anyone has cut a hole in the plywood under the mattress so that you don't have to unscrew all those screws. I worry that taking those screws out and putting them back repeatedly in the wood will split the wood or strip the hole out. Just trying to get ahead of any problems. Right now I just did not install the screws back. The plywood is just sitting there. I figure the mattress will hole it in place.

Lots of people have cut access panels for their winterizing, makes it a lot easier.

One thing though, I was tired of the screws too so I left mine out this past season.  At least on our bed and the way it's framed that piece of plywood now slides off one of the support rails during trips and ends up dipping down in between where it's supposed to be.  So we ended up with loud pops or dips in the bed every time it shifted.

Next spring my screws go back in and stay in!

Just a reminder, you also have access to the valves from the left side rear storage area access panel.  It is a pretty tight squeeze however!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just make sure you lube up with some vaseline first!!  Happy Thanksgiving to all.  hogone

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will put my screws back and I get to cut on my brand new pod. Just have to remind myself to put the saw down and stop cutting. Happy Thanksgiving.

I left my screws out the first fall and never put them back in.  No problem with the plywood shifting or falling.

I'm with techntrek. Don't really see a need for the screws. Besides, it makes it easier for me to take out the platform, cut it up and put it back while I figure out how I'm going to make the daybed/queen/convertible.

Happy Overeating Day!

Might just be the way the sheet of plywood is cut on the 181g beds perhaps.
