Yes they are nice. No wood to rot, no steel to rust. The 21RBS is just enough bigger to make life much easier for the two of us:
 - Walk around queen bed
 - Dry bath
 - 7 cu.ft. fridge

Dinette is not as nice as the 172 Pod, but it's easier to get into.

Looking forward to the Camplite, but I'll really miss the Pod and this forum. Perhaps I can lurk and comment occasionally. As a newbie I learned so much here that I will always be grateful to all the Pod guys and gals.

Yes, but you get what you pay for. It's well built, lighter than equivalents, and it'll be here for my grandkids. And the factory was very accomodating to my custom requests. BTW, Livinlite was just bought up by Thor Industries, for better or worse. Time will tell.

Just a personal comment.  Thor Industries is a major powerhouse in the RV industry.  However, they seem to have a way of making whatever products they buy, much cheaper in quality and construction.  The bought an almost bankrupt Airstream which used to be the gold standard in RV's, years ago.  According to many who used to own one before Thor saved them from bankruptcy, or new owners, they seem to have the opinion that they aren't built to the same quality and standards of years ago.  I certainly understand the need for more room.  I hope you get one that hasn't been Thorized.  Good luck and safe travels.

Bob,

I understand completely. That's what I meant by "for better or worse". On the up side there is the potential for increased capital, lower cost suppliers, and more dealerships. There's even hope that aluminum may creep into the Airstream. On the downside there is the scenario you describe. There are loads of cases where an acquiring conglomerate milks the profit from their acquisitions by sacrificing quality and innovation.

One good sign: The factory was very receptive to my customization requests, including a black tank flusher, a beefed up bumper, and an added skylight above the shower. I was worried that Thor would nix such requests, but it didn't happen. Of course I was charged for the changes, but I expected that. So far so good. Delivery will be in the new year.

In the meantime we are in camping lockdown. The Pod is empty and clean in preparation for a sale. And I just bought a new supercharged Toyota Tacoma 4.0L V6 for a TV. So we are ready to hit the roads again, but my heart, and my  wife's, will always be with the Pod and this forum.

Sounds great.  I firmly believe that an informed buyer is a smart buyer.  Looks like you have done your homework.  Hope your new trailer is all you want it to be, to paraphrase the military.  We are also looking to replace our TV but haven't had any calls on it yet.  Looking at the Nissan Pathfinder with a 6,000 lb. tow capacity.  Best of luck and enjoy.  Safe Travels.
