That wouldn't fly here. But I bet it's just fine up there. Smile

And it removes unneeded weight and aerodynamic drag.. a trade off to the new nose section.Wink

I'm guessing you got the heater wiring issue sorted out...?

Now you need to keep track of your mpg so we can find out how much drag that A/C adds.

Mark, funny you should mention the furnace you better sit down. I went to two RV places the first one wanted 300$, the second one told me it would be a 4 to 5 hour job at 150$ an hour. I figured it out by myself, all I needed to is hook the two reds and the two whites together, pull the red and the white out of the old thermostat and hook it up to a new thermostat just for the furnace, and guess what it works.

Great looking Mod, I am considering doing the same and this post might have pushed me off the fence. We have not used the AC since owning the Pod and I'm guessing it's not worth dragging the weight around with me.

Can you tell me where did you buy the skylight? and what brand/kit is it?

Cheers.

I have bad news for you. The opening for the AC is 14 1/2"x 14 1/2" but the ceiling is 2 3/16" thick, in order to have a good overlap you need a 18"x18" skylight. The only Skylight in that size is either white or smoked, I wanted clear. The cost to have one custom made is between 250-300$ here, to much for me.
So I bought a clear cover for the fantastic fan, I build my own curb and put a latch on it so I can open it for cleaning. I also fit a flat piece of plexiglass wish is laying on top of the inner trim. It is kind of double glass.

I met some folks at a Michigan rally who ordered their pod without air and also had a skylight. Maybe they'll weigh in with some pics and a story.

Leave it marwayne. I don't think there has been a mod on his trailer that was a bolt on. He has some of the most fantastic custom mods on the forum. I wouild go as far to say the most fantastic custom mods.

Wow. Looks great.

What material did you use to make up the Curb?

I've decided to settle for the Smoke coloured Vent (hopefully it will be open most of the time anyway). Despite having some scrap pieces of carbon fibre around, I'm not sure I have the patience to build up the whole dome from scratch.  Found this one at etrailer for $35 and think it should work.

It's not nearly as cool as marwayne's mod but looks pretty straight forward. Thank-you for the great pictures.

I hate that old noisy AC but I love it on a hot, muggy July night!  Actually I had to use it in Florida some this winter to give the pups a break from the heat.....and yeah, I liked it for an afternoon nap too.
