I'm interested in buying a solar panel and the Zamp 'briefcase' models, while pretty expensive look intriguing.  The dealership where I bought my 177 has started selling Zamp products and the service manager has said that the 40 watt panel would handle 'non-discretionary' electrical consumption while boon docking.  This included the detectors, frig, and very minimal use of lights, water pump, furnace.  Does the service managers estimate sound right?

I'm also wondering if I'm looking for a solution to a problem that I don't have.  Over the last two years we've never had the battery indicator show fewer than three lights after a long weekend of boon docking.

The 40 watt panel is rated at 2.4 amps. We bought the 80 watt panel for the same money on Ebay. At almost 5 amps output, I'm hoping to cover more than "non-discretionary" use.....
