Hello, we picked up our new 2015 R-pod 171 on Saturday 8/16/14 and what a cute camper. This is our first fully equipped camper with all the bells and whistles. We've camped in a tent for over 10 yrs. and then got a popup had that a few years and now R-pod. Looking forward to taking the grand daughter camping this weekend in Pymatuning, Pa. I read through some of the forums and found some really cool information.  Thanks, Happy Camping Smile

Hello and Welcome

Your Pod looks great, you even have the new colors.  Where did you buy it?

We have a 2011 - 181G and live about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA.  Where do you live?
Maybe we can get together.  We might be neighbors!!

We were at Pymatuning on August 8-10, great weather.

You will love your R-pod!   We really enjoy ours.

Safe travels - Enjoy it!

Bob and Sylvia

Hello, we bought our r pod in Hermitage, Pa from Kerola Campers. We love the new look too. The weather doesnt look to good for pymatuning, looks like rain all weekend Thumbs Down.
We live in Freedom, just outside of Beaver and I think it's about 30 miles from Pittsburgh.

We won't get much camping in this year since we got ours so late in the season. We have this weekend in pymatuning and then Labor day weekend at Shenango campground.

What other campgrounds do you go to?
I would like to go to the Allegheny mountains or to several others.

There's always next year.

Thanks,
Pat & Viki

Someone here recently recommended this website, which shows a ton of non-commercial campgrounds across the US (national park, state park, county park, fairgrounds, forest service, utility owned, etc).  http://www.ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc/index.php - http://www.ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc/index.php

We'll be checking out a few that we didn't know about.

If you like winter, you can always winter camp (just keep the pod winterized).  We've had a January pod campout at French Creek State Park the last 4 years, although last year I think only 1 pod could make it.  I had to cancel last minute due to a health problem at the time.  I'm hoping to make it next time.  Looks like it would be a 4-hour drive for you.

I use 2 sources of information that may or may not appeal to you.  The first is Passport America which has a we site (passportamerica.com) that contains a comprehensive list of campgrounds in their system.  Members of PPA have access to all the campgrounds listed for half off the regular price.  The campgrounds listed so not include county, state or Federal CGs.  We use PPA almost exclusively because of the 50% savings on the regular rates.

The other is AAA.  If you are a member, you can order copies of campground guides by area of the country.  AAA has teamed up with Woodall's, and that directory is now included in the AAA campground guides.

As I mentioned, these sources are not for everyone, but they are great for us and we have used them since 1992.
