Subject: Exterior door lock failure

| Last October, the TriMark lock on the exterior door of my 177 failed. The deadbolt lock still works, but the other "valet" lock on the top of the mechanism no longer works. The local dealers doesn't know if there is a recall on these. Anyone one in Pod-dom know if this has been a problem and if there is a reecall? |

I would seriously encourage you to phone them. | Thanks for the advice. I was planning to do that because the upper "valet" lock also failed on me. Whether Fastec will replace the core of the upper lock without a fee also remains to be seen; but, I want to make sure that I have to lock and unlock the pod with only one key. |

| My local pod dealer thought my lock was TriMark - what do they know? - they lost their only RPod technician recently. Looking at the code on the key, I was able to ascertain that the lock was made by Fastec. |

| I just got off the phone with Brandon at Fastec. Two replacement cores, an extractor key, and duplicate keys are on the way. He estimates that it should take about two weeks for shipment. Second trip out this week and the deadbolt failed and locked us out. Had to call out a locksmith at about $140.00. We could go back to the dealer and fight for a replacement but at this point have no faith in a lock you can buy on Amazon for something like $30. The deadbolt cylinder on my 2015 177 disintegrated while I was unlocking to leaving on a weekday trip. It could not be saved - couldn't even get the key into the lock. I had to drill the cylinder to get the door open. The good news is the local RV dealer (Arrow Trailer Supply, Ontario CA.) Had several in stock. Price tag was $34. Works as original since it was an exact replacement. Thank goodness I was in my driveway when it broke. This would NOT have been amusing in a remote campground! The dealer ordered a warranty replacement a month ago but I haven't received it yet. I will be traveling with my cordless drill and suitable drill bits as a result of the experience.. ------------- "He not busy being born is busy dying." |

What type of problems? I have read complaints about the loud beeping noise but haven't seen any about being locked out.

If you are talking about the one with the keypad & remote, it was standard for a while but isn't anymore.
