Hi! I just put down a deposit for a new 179! I've been shopping like mad to get stuff before it arrives. Man, starting from scratch to load one of these is expensive.
Years ago when my son was little we had a pop-up tent. But since then, I have been camping off of my motorcycle. I have conquered the art of getting things lightweight and small by camping this way.
I recently sold my VW Tiguan for a Chevy Colorado. The Tiguan would only haul 2200 pounds and I wanted more. My son doesn't approve of me selling my car or buying an RV. I think he's upset because the car was paid for. (It was a great trade in for the Colorado) :)
I'm retired and love travelling around to new places. I've done 11000 and 14000 in a car around the US and there are plenty of places I still want to see. My dream is to do #3 on my bucket list this summer. I want to go to Mesa Verde State park and see the ruins.
Well, that's about enough of me. Nice to meet you :)

Welcome, we are also new 179 owners. We won't take possession of ours until late next month but have already begun ordering "stuff". We feel your pain.
We are planning on using our Envoy this year as our TV but have thought that in the future the new Colorado would be nice. I will be interested to hear how it handled w/ your new 179.
Congrats and good luck.

I love the Colorado! I was surprised about the gas mileage. It's the same as my Tiguan, but I've only filled it up once. LOL I ordered and installed a Retrax Pro on the back of the truck. It was sooooo easy and I love I can lock the cab bed with all my stuff in it.

Welcome.  We did Mesa Verde this past summer.  I was there as a kid so I made sure my family included it when we were making plans.  My favorite (then and now) is still Yellowstone!
