Has anybody ever gotten a spare key made for their Rpod. We tried to get one done at Ace Hardware but they didn't have any blanks that would work. I don't know if any of the other big box hardware stores might have them

Great question.  Am curious though as when we purchased our 177 back on 2011 it came with 2 sets of keys, do they only come with 1 set on the newer ones?

We got two sets on our 171 and later when we bought our 179 we also got two sets. Haven't lost any yet, but you can never have enough spares!

Ours came with two sets. However I would like to have a backup or two if possible and considering the cost of getting extra keys made I thought it would be a good idea just in case

I have multiple keys, obtained when i replaced all the cargo hatch key cylinders with cylinders keyed the same as the door key.  In the case of my 2015 RP-178, the door key is a Global Link with a key number.  You might want to see if RV Locks can provide extra keys:  http://www.rvlocksandmore.com/Global-Link-and-Fastec-FIC-Brand-RV-Locks-and-Keys/Outside-RV.

My used pod only came with 1 key.  I had a spare made at a lock smith type store.  I do not think this style of key is available at the big box retailers.  Good luck with your search.

Tried to get extra keys from Lowes, can't do it. Same witb ACE hardware. A local RV dealer only had blanks .... which of course Lowes couldn't make the keys from. Finally went to a locksmith shop .... no problem. Should have gone there first and saved all the running around.

I appreciate everybody's input. I will probably go with A locksmith. We have a couple nearby and there's one that we use at my office on occasion. Thanks to all

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and go to an established lock smith.  My locksmith cut two for me at $2.00 each.
