I'm a new Rpod 180 owner.  I purchased my Rpod to take to dog shows.  I got the rdome because it provides necessary shade for my show dogs (three chihuahuas, so small dogs).  After I took the rdome down after my last stay, I shook it vigorously to get debris off of it.  I was shocked that the rdome sustained a tear in a seam near the plastic part the slides into the track on the trailer (the seam tear is about 1.5 feet).  Wow!  Because I need this accessory for an upcoming show, it is going to be repaired by the upholstery folk associated with the RV dealer.  I hope this isn't a bad idea.  I was told it would take awhile for a warranty claim to go through Forest River.  Does anyone know if this is true?  I do think it can be repaired quite easily.  On another note I have been able to put the rdome up and take it down traveling on my own.  However, I'm considering getting the PahaQue visor for shorter trips.  Does this visor provide adequate shade?  It does look much quicker and easier to set up.

Hi there,

Did you ever get any answers on this and did the dealer repair the rdome to your satisfaction?

I also have an issue with our rdome. I just bought a 2015 179 used from a private party and one thing that made it a good deal for us was that it came with the lift kit, door window, cover, and the rdome. We just set up the rdome for the first time and the zipper on the front cover had been split and the previous owner had stitched the top part together. I would like to have it open all the way so would like to get this repaired. Is it worth it to try to send it to dometic or is it better to find a tent and awning repair and see if I can get it done?

Mine ripped the first time I set it up a couple years ago. Dealer replaced it pretty quickly and it's been ok since. We don't use it a lot because it's hard to get it bug tight, and I find our pop-up screen house is easier.
