Not sure where this goes but at the end of our summer Florida camping trip we had a very violent tire blow out.  So violent it blew the fender off our pod 177.  It happened at 40mph, just after getting off the turnpike at 65mph.  I had run over a piece of plywood on the road which I thought nothing of. Should have checked. We were very very lucky.  When the service man came to change the tires, he explained tire age.  Especially in south fl anything over 5 years old is like shooting craps.  My tires were 2010.  Most of you probable already know this but for those that don't, check the age of your tires.  Also check the age of those great tire sales tires that happen every now and then. You probably didn't have a blowout actually. If the tire goes down from a leak, maybe a nail in the wood you hit, if not noticed that it has gone down, the tire will self destruct by shredding, those chunks of tire carcass spinning around can and will take the fender off pretty easy.

BUT YES, tire age is a MUCH larger factor on trailer tires then mileage.
