OK, maybe it's lust, not love, but I'm having a tough time trying not to think about her it. I've been cheating on you and feel I need to confess.

Just got back from a great trip to Florida (backyard camping @ friend's), Charleston (Givhens Ferry State Park) and Murrells Inlet (Huntington Beach State Park). Great weather, great friends and fun times. Even Henry the camping cat had a good time!

While at Huntington Beach, I saw her - glowing in the sunlight and wearing a perfect assortment of shiny stainless steel jewelry. She was alone in a parking lot. No-one was around so I walked all around her. Nice curves! Incredibly smooth skin and not a wrinkle or seam or blemish to be seen. She was beautiful! Then I learned her name - Oliver Legacy Elite II.

Yeah, she's not a cheap date, but wow.

So now you know. I hope you don't think any less of me.

fred

Oliver's are VERY nice.. Did you get a chance to see the interior? Very well done in a small yacht kind of way. And yes, NOT inexpensive. Used ones seem to bring as much or more as new ones, because of the "no wait"... I know a couple podders who have that lust..

It really is Leo. A real 4-Season TT.  About the only modification I can think of is rod holders!

Furpod - Yes, very "yachtish". I have to say I have sailed and lived on yachts not as well built. And, yes, the historic resale value is enough to convince me that camping is not just a mental health investment.

Yeah, there are not many true 4 season campers out there. That was part of our draw to the Lance. As much as we liked the Oliver, they don't have a model big enough for what we needed.

It's funny how HBSP can be.. The last couple times we have been there, an EarthRoamer has been there.. calling my name. BUT dang.. $300K... I have talked with the owners several times.. been all through it..

Some other friends of ours who have the desire for a CampLite keep running into one there.. LOL

That is a very nice trailer-  seems to be a modern day inheritor of the "Land Yacht" cachet.  Very Airstream in finish and layout.  For me?  nope.

Now, if it's confession time, Furpod's Lance is another story.  Talk about love / lust...

Bob, no argument Lance makes a nice camper. Even better when it comes with two handsome furry friends like Furpod's got.

For me, I'm thinking a year or two out. It's all about fit and finish. The Ollie fits us and I'm just about finished with the reward/challenge of lots of mods and maintenance.

BTW, for those that might be interested, I just had shipped a bunch of parts from Forest River:

Ceiling panel (lower front or rear or bathroom walls)
30I62820A...2.7 X 48" X 96" DECOR PANELING - "GLO WHEAT LINEN" 1@$50.66......$50.66

Seam tape
30I64651A...1" SEAM TAPE - "GLO WHEAT LINEN"  10'@$0.28......$2.80

Seam Tape
30I82271A...6" OVERLAY PAPER GLO WHEAT LINEN 6'@$1.68......$10.08

Vinyl corner trim
30I16311A...7/8" FLEX GIMP, TAMPA TAN 8'@$0.14'......$1.12

Shipping: $48.89

ooooh.... Heart

But that price tag.

At least this has decent sized potable and grey tanks. We looked at the Airstream and their tanks were really small.  A back window is also a must for us as many of the nice sites have the view you're paying for at the rear.

Still bummed about Evergreen going OOB.

So easy to stray....  you can window shop just don't try on the shoes!

fwunder, jealous that you can get those parts direct from FR.  They still won't sell direct for my Salem.

Lust and love!? What forum am I visiting?! Lol! Now I need to look at the Oliver!! We full-time and I do worry about our 179's lifespan. We don't really camp in winter weather but we'd like a true 4-season camper built for the wear and tear of full-time traveling. (Any suggestions out there?) Too bad we're poor and can't afford a yacht!!

Uhhh, yep, I got a suggestion... https://olivertraveltrailers.com/trailers/legacy-elite-2/ - Oliver Legacy Elite II

She is beautiful, right? Right?! Those curves! That silky smooth skin.

If/when we decide to go full time or close to it (maybe sooner), I will figure out a way to get an Oliver...or something very similar. I will look for something that will require a minimum amount of maintenance, has a livable layout, is true 4-season and has a historical resale value sometimes exceeding new sale price - and will sell fast if need be.

I know, I know. I could buy three or four R-Pods for the same price and that's a legitimate argument but I just want to go and enjoy going anywhere and anytime and not worry about what's in the rear view mirror.

That said, we have thoroughly enjoyed our 178. We still do! When we do part ways, she will make a wonderful companion to a younger lover with a bit more stamina.

Have fun with your adventures!

fred
