Its Christmas Eve, the kids just went to bed, the milk and cookies are sitting next to the Christmas tree, the fire is raging in the wood stove, and we are watching TV waiting until the kids fall asleep.  Oh, and we are sipping on (fairly strong) adult beverages.

I think I hear Santa in the distance...

Merry Christmas everyone!

LOL, that's what we watch every year as we wrap the presents.  Just finished up and now we're winding down before bed.

And then comes the early wake-up call...

I'm one of the many people out there working in places you hope you never need or see on Christmas Eve/Christmas- hospitals, fire departments, police and ambulance corps. We do it because our kids are grown and we don't mind giving those with young families off (my case) or we are new to the profession and we have to "pay our dues". I just finished going around and thanking my wonderful staff of doctors, nurses, lab technicians and security guards for being here at the hospital tonight. Not a grumble in the group and all are busy taking care of the sick...and that is my Christmas wish for all. That we are all warm, cared for, have a mission and purpose in life and are part of a family or community who will always help those in need.

The graveyard shift,
Linda

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Ted and I are just chilling out this morning.  His kids are coming over after then are done opening presents at their mother's house.  I probably will make a late breakfast including some mimosas in a couple of hours.

Linda, I would like to wish you and yours a special Merry Christmas.  I think it is really great of you to work so that others with smaller children don't have to.  It is a generous thing to do and I know you are very very appreciated.  Thank you.
