Topic: Sequence or Water line to POD Posted: 27 Jul 2017 at 5:23pm |
At 72, my wife and I have purchased a POD 180. Please note, we have never ever done anything like camping with a travel trailer including a R Pod. (I am making checklist and I sure need it.)
I did a quick search and did not find the answer to the following: what is the proper sequence of water line from spigot to Pod.
I have a pressure regulator, filter, hose.
Questions: Do I need more items and what is the proper order.
Please help and thanks.

Pressure regulator, hose, filter. Why use a regulator?

My regulator and filter is at spigot end, then at TT I have a 90 degree that directs hose down, to take load off TT connection. I use an adjustable regulator and a WalMart filter.

Thanks for the assistance. I like the idea of an "L" at the TT. I can see how that5 would take weight off the TT water connection.

I would also recommend a heated water supply hose - IF - you plan stays in campgrounds during freezing conditions. I know I spent 8 weeks in an AL campground at the end of last year, and the weather was cold. The heated hose was a real problem solver. They are pricey, most parks insulate their spigots, that water hose is an issue. Also when you get a regulator - get an adjustable regulator with gauge. Don't be cheap, the repairs won't be.

Spigot - Regulator - Hose - Filter - Pod
Even though some say that they're very careful to keep dirt out of the freshwater hose, I don't have that much faith, which is why I want the filter at the Pod.
As for connection of the filter to the Pod, I use the flexible "hoselet" that comes with the Camco filters.

When I put regulator, hose and filter on spigot, I turn water on before connecting to Pod, to ensure it is passing clean flow. Then after determing I am getting clean water I attach to Pod.

I think the only "must" is the regulator first. That way, none of the other components are put under undue stress. The rest is all personal preference.
